MooseSentry Now With DPM 2010
Posted on October 1, 2010
Moose Logic is happy to announce that the MooseSentryTM appliance is now being built with Microsoft System Center Data Protection Manager 2010. DPM 2010 offers several advantages over the previous version:
- Backups of Windows Server 2003 through 2008 R2
- Backups of SQL Server 2000 through 2008
- You can protect an entire SQL instance, including auto-protection of new databases within that instance
- SQL 2005 databases can be recovered to SQL 2008 servers
- Protection of MOSS 2003 - 2010, including auto-protection of new content databases within a SharePoint Farm
- Backups of Exchange 2003 through 2010, including optimizations for SCC, CCR, SCR, DAG, and ESE offloading
- Backups of Windows 7 clients, including the ability to backup to local Shadow Copies on Windows Vista and Windows 7 laptops, and synchronize with the DPM server when the laptops are reconnected to the network
- Host-level backup of Hyper-V on Windows Server 2008 R2 allows you to backup all VMs running on a Hyper-V host using a single agent running within the Hyper-V host. Cluster Shared Volumes are fully supported, and backups are not affected by Live Migrating a VM. VMs backed up from one Hyper-V host can be restored to an alternate host. If the VM is a Windows Server, a single file or folder can be restored as an alternate to restoring the entire VM.
We're excited about the changes Microsoft has made in DPM 2010, and believe that it makes the MooseSentryTM even more valuable to our customers.
Welcome!
