Pricing and Options

The MooseSentry^TM appliance comes in two basic models (custom configurations can be quoted upon request). The number of devices that each appliance can back up will depend upon the size of the backup data sets, and the number of on-line restore points desired for each backup set. (See our "How It Works" page for a discussion of restore points and how the appliance backs up data.)

Purchase two MooseSentry appliances to support off-site replication.

Installation is available from Moose Logic, and is based on the number of appliances and Data Protection Management Licenses purchased. Ongoing support agreements are also available, and installation is discounted for customers purchasing a support agreement.

Data Protection Management Licenses

• Enterprise Data Protection Management License - $430.00 each
• Standard Data Protection Management License - $155.00 each
• Client Data Protection Management License - $24 each

NOTE: The appropriate Data Protection Management License is required for every system you intend to back up with the MooseSentry appliance. The prices quoted here are for a Microsoft Open Business license agreement, which requires that you purchase a minimum of five licenses, unless you have an existing Open License agreement that can be used for the purchase. If you would like to obtain your Data Protection Management Licenses through Moose Logic, please contact us for a custom quote.

Additional Hard Disk Drives

Additional hot-plug hard disk drives can be used to expand the on-line storage pool of a MooseSentry Standard Edition appliance, and/or to provide for rotation of the drives used for tape emulation (e.g., to allow for weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annual archives).

• 1.5 Tb Disk Drive, in hot-plug tray - $150.00 each

Please note that, when used for long-term archival storage, the hard drives should be kept in a climate controlled environment within the temperature and humidity range recommended by the drive manufacturer. They should also be protected from electrostatic discharge and excessive vibration. If properly stored, the drive should remain readable for several years; however, after a very long period of disuse, you may see read/write errors resulting from stiffness in the spindle bearings or head actuator.

Installation

Installation and configuration is calculated as a fixed fee per appliance and per Data Protection Management License. These prices assume that Moose Logic will perform all necessary work effort remotely. On-site installation can be quoted upon request.

MooseGuard for MooseSentry^TM Support Agreement

Moose Logic offers remote monitoring, management, and support of MooseSentry appliances at a cost of $300.00 per month, or $500.00 per month for a primary/secondary pair. This support agreement includes remote monitoring and unlimited telephone/remote support for critical issues. The cost of replacement parts is not included beyond the initial 90-day Warranty period. To qualify for discounted installaion, customer must purchase a minimum of six (6) months of coverage, payable in advance.

Warranty

The MooseGuard appliance is warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for one year. For detailed Warranty terms, see our MooseSentry Warranty Statement.
